Forwards Festival 2024 through five key performances

Team Love, the promoters behind the Bristol two-day event Forwards, are definitely doing something right. Now clocking in for its third edition, the recipe for success is clear: a balance of crowd pleasers and, crucially, community.
Saturday saw the likes of Four Tet and Floating Points go head to head with some of the leading light...

Bishopskin | Bilingual

Well that’s Bishopskin! And so beautifully put! Will it resonate? The honest answer is I don’t know - it comforts me that you have so clearly identified what I feel is this rich source of inspiration for Bishopskin, but maybe in more insecure moments I often feel that we may not find our audience. Problemista unfolds against the backdrop of New York City, a sprawling metropolis that pulsates with its own unique rhythm and energy. But where last year’s Victory Lap felt like a scrawled manifesto, EP2...

Tlya X An’s 'Daddy' is a brilliantly facetious ode to her own ambition

The advent of a new year has brought about some new additions to the roster of the Bristol tastemakers Spinny Nights. One particularly exciting signing is the dazzling composer, producer, singer and visual artist Tlya X An. Born in Jerusalem and based in Bristol, this genre-bending creative powerhouse already established herself from her debut track ‘Holy J’ an artist destined for a meteoric rise; her sophomore track ‘Daddy’ is in this regard certainly no different.
